How the dot moves
The motion identity for every Nekuda video: one protagonist, one easing curve, one direction. Title sequences, not showreels. No bounce physics, no swarms, no glows.
6a THE CURVE — SPEED PERSONALITY
TIME →
The dot moves like someone who knows the way — it commits instantly, travels fast and level, and slows down only to be exact.
nekuda-ease: cubic-bezier(0.55, 0, 0.15, 1) — every move, every size
micro (dot lands) 240ms · element (line, lower-third) 600ms · composition 1600–2400ms
one direction, downstream · a dot never retraces its path
banned: bounce, spring, stagger-fizz, motion blur
6b THE INTRO RITUAL — EVERY VIDEO OPENS THE SAME WAY
01 · 0.0S — EMPTY PAPER, HOLD 600MS
02 · 0.6S — HAIRLINE DRAWS IN, TIP-FIRST, 900MS
03 · 1.5S — THE DOT LANDS, 240MS, ONE OVERSHOOT
Where the work stops
04 · 1.8S — TITLE FADES ON BELOW THE LINE, 400MS · HOLD ≥2S
The dot is still before the type appears — one moving thing at a time, always. Live loop in 6c.
6c INTRO — LOOPING STUDY
Where the work stops
Paper 600ms → line 900ms → dot 240ms → title 400ms → hold. Total ritual: 3.2s before the first cut.
6d THE OUTRO RITUAL — THE PERIOD, PROMOTED
The work should never sit still
01 — CLOSING LINE, ORDINARY PERIOD · HOLD 400MS
02 — PERIOD TURNS CYAN, GROWS 700MS · TYPE STEPS ASIDE

03 — HARD CUT TO INK END CARD · HOLD ≥2S · NEVER FADE OUT
The grown dot and the end card's period are the same object in the viewer's mind — the cut lands on the beat, and the dot appears to survive it.
6e LOWER-THIRD & CHAPTER MARKER
TALKING-HEAD FOOTAGE
Dana Levi
FOUNDER, NEKUDA
Lower-third enters downstream: dot lands (240ms) → card unfolds rightward from it (600ms) → type fades on (200ms). It exits by fading — the dot never retraces. Chapter dots: passed ink, current enlarged ink, ahead 25%; the timeline's one cyan is spent on the speaker card, so the playhead stays ink.
6f RHYTHM — THE DOT AS SILENT METRONOME
CUT
CUT
600MS GRID · MIN SHOT = 4 BEATS (2.4S)
Everything sits on a 600ms grid. Travels, holds, and cuts are multiples of one beat — 100 BPM at rest. Never cut mid-travel: a cut lands on the frame after a dot event (a landing, a pause, a divider dot).
One moving thing at a time. While the dot travels, the camera, type, and footage hold still; type appears only once the dot has stopped. Minimum shot length four beats; title and end cards hold at least 2s.
nekuda-ease everywhere · downstream only · no bounce, no swarm, no glow
if the edit feels fast, remove a cut — never shorten a hold
